Development Overview
The Estacada Lake corridor is a unique recreational area along the Clackamas River, a narrow reservoir bordered by two PGE dams, creating a beautiful, calm, lake-like body of water perfect for recreational activities. The City of Estacada plans to build a public-access dock below the subject site, allowing easier access to the lake and expanding recreational opportunities for boaters, fisherman, kayakers and stand-up paddle-boarders.
Located on the banks of Estacada Lake just 500 feet across HWY 224 from Estacada’s downtown shopping and business area, the subject site is an approximately three-acre parcel that has been owned by the Dunlop family for three generations. The Site address is 600 SW Beech Road Estacada, Oregon 97023.
The property currently includes the 22-room Red Fox Motel, the 10-room “Annex” to the motel which is rented out as extended stay, and a 50-unit mini storage.
The Red Fox, the only hotel in Estacada, will be substantially upgraded and modernized with new paint, landscaping, interior furnishings and décor. Both the Annex and the mini storage will be torn down to make room for 100 new multi-family market rate apartments. There will be 36 studio apartments and 64 one bedroom-one bath units, all with balconies and large windows to let in light. All but 12 of the units have balconies facing the water, and each unit has a washer and dryer, dishwasher, and a storage closet on the balcony.
These properties will jointly provide nightly, weekly, monthly, and long-term housing, and will significantly upgrade Estacada’s housing options, offering a level of luxury and comfort that has been missing in the city.
